One sector of work that may be usurped by robotic technology is the cleaning and sanitation industry. For thousands of years, sanitation has been an area of employment that many people fall back on when times are hard because of the lack of qualifications needed and because the working hours can often be tailored to suit the individual.<\/p>\n<p>In more recent times there have been some interesting developments in technology that mean robots will soon be able to offer a cleaning service that is more efficient and cheaper than the work done by humans.\u00a0 Engineers have already created a variety of robots that can clean offices and homes to a very high standard.<\/p>\n<p>Vacubot is one such high-tech sanitation robot that makes light work of ridding offices and homes of the everyday germs and bacteria that build up over time. The robot uses ultrasonic wave technology to remove almost all dirt, germs and dust in seconds and moves onto the next area automatically. The robot\u2019s sensors enable it to map the area to be cleaned and navigate around obstacles.\u00a0 It can clean any size of room and yet has the versatility to be able to clean smaller items such as laptops, phones and other electronic devices.<\/p>\n<p>Although robots appear to have the upper hand in efficiency, management and staff of cleaning companies can still be reluctant to accept the technology.\u00a0 Businesses are always cautious of new technology until there is plenty of evidence that the technology is durable over long periods. There are many companies studying how well the robot cleaners perform before there is any danger of them ditching their current human workforce.<\/p>\n<p>Traditional human cleaners might also be pleased to know that there are some limitations with this robot cleaning technology.\u00a0 Robots are similar to computers in that they follow instructions exactly so they need to be configured correctly or they may not work at all. Although obstacles can be navigated around, the current generation of robots can\u2019t pick up larger objects such as chairs and clean underneath them as their human counterparts can.\u00a0 The robots are more suited to large areas without many obstacles, so warehouses are ideal but small cluttered offices are not. Currently there are also issues with short battery life and how to empty the robot\u2019s dust bag when it is full, although there are new robots coming out next year that will resolve both of these problems.<\/p>\n<p>In the near future robot cleaners will be able to send back data on how they can be more efficient so that they can improve their service. Attention : la r\u00e9ponse \u00ab\u00a0<em>Not Given<\/em>\u00a0\u00bb ne s&rsquo;utilise pas syst\u00e9matiquement si vous avez un doute.
