The CAE (Cambridge Advanced Certificate in English) is an advanced level English exam. It will assess your ability to use English in the work environment and your readiness to use English at the undergraduate level of study. It can be challenging.
Instructions can be tricky and many test takers have thought that an answer is correct, but they didn’t read the instructions properly, and so they didn’t answer the question properly. Learning about the format and instructions of an exam is an often overlooked aspect of test preparation, but it is an aspect that can add points to your score.
Becoming familiar with what instructions you will hear during the interview will help you to relax and focus on giving a good answer.
Knowing what exactly you should do during the listening section is key. If you’re not clear what is happening, then you may not listen for the correct information.
The same goes for writing; a lot of people misunderstand the instructions and write a grammatically good answer, but it didn’t answer the question asked.
I think you get the idea. You should read over what we have to say about the instructions for the CAE. We want you to be fully prepared as your success is our success.
