HSK 1 – Listening Comprehension

Structure

• 4 exercises with 5 questions each.
• 15 minutes to answer all the questions, and then 3 minutes to write down your answers on the answer sheet.
• Each recording will be played twice.

HSK 1 – Listening Comprehension – Exercise 1

Exercise 1 is made up of 5 questions.

For each question, you will listen to a simple statement (usually containing a subject and a verb). You will find a picture on your exam sheet. You must state whether what you have heard matches up with the picture.

Example 1 :

You hear: hěn gāoxìng = 很高兴

Exercise 2 is made up of 5 questions.

For each question, you will listen to a short sentence. 3 pictures will be displayed on your exam sheet. You need to state which picture matches up with the sentence you have heard.

Example :

You hear: Zhè shì wǒ de shū = 这是我的书

You will see on your exam sheet (then you must select answer A on your answer sheet):

Exercise 3 is made up of 5 questions.

For each question, you will hear a conversation between a man and woman. Each of them will give a short sentence. 5 pictures will be displayed on your exam sheet. You need to state which picture matches up with the conversation you have heard.

Example :

You hear:

Nǐ hǎo! = 你好！

Nǐ hǎo! Hěn gāoxìng rènshi nǐ = 你好！很高兴认识你。

HSK 1 – Listening Comprehension – Exercise 4

Exercise 4 is made up of 5 questions.

For each question, you will hear a short sentence. A second person will ask a question about the first sentence. You need to state the answer by selecting one of the three choices:

Example :

You hear:

Xiàwǔ wǒ qù shāngdiàn，wǒ xiǎng mǎi yìxiē shuǐguǒ．

下午我去商店，我想买一些水果。

Tā xiàwǔ qù nǎlǐ？

她下午去哪里？
