¿En qué consiste la parte 7 de la prueba de Reading FCE?
La parte 7 del Reading and Use of English del FCE consiste en un ejercicio de emparejamiento múltiple. Vas a encontrar una serie de afirmaciones seguidas de un texto dividido en dos secciones o de varios textos cortos. El objetivo con este ejercicio es localizar la información específica que corresponde a las preguntas.
Esta sección se focaliza sobre todo en la comprensión detallada de textos. Al ser un nivel intermedio avanzado, se espera que seas capaz de entender la idea principal de textos complejos como artículos de periódico o revistas, libros, contenidos profesionales o informativos.

| Amelia I started studying for my exams but I wasn’t enjoying it, so I left school early. I find the process of revision, exams and being in the classroom doesn’t suit me. I thought being in the workplace would benefit me much more. I had heard a lot about training when I was growing up. I understand that some people think of it as long hours with low pay but that’s definitely not the case! I now know that on-the-job training lets you become a part of the company and gain the kind of skills you don’t get in the classroom. I’m pleased that I am treated the same as the company employees. I have the same responsibilities as everyone else and I have been asked to organise a company event in Singapore this year! | Thomas I have been interested in technology for as long as I can remember. My hobby started at the age of 11, when I got my very first computer. I loved it! My passion for computers grew from this, and that continued through secondary school about technology. I learned about how things work, how computers were made and even to learn basic coding. Once I had finished school, I found that I had very little direction in terms of where and how to progress. I was unsure of my options and I felt that there were very few opportunities in my local area. However, I was lucky to find a company where I did some on-the-job training in the I department. This was something that was ideal for me. The company adapted the job and the training around me, making it the perfect situation for me. |
| Marie From a young age, I’ve watched technology change at a fast pace. TVs now have flat screens, phones are now wireless and we can all go shopping on the internet. I have always loved the excitement surrounding technology and for as long as I can remember I have always wanted to work in IT. After my exams, I started an 18-month technology training course within Bensons Supermarkets at their head office. I was in a group of eight (seven boys and me). The training helped me gain valuable experience within a variety of situations as well as gaining qualifications with an external training provider. After my training, Bensons offered me a job as a full-time computer systems technician. Looking back, I would say the training has not only helped me learn but has also taught me to believe in myself and to be confident in what I do and how I present myself to others. It has also taught me to always strive to do the best for myself and the business in which I work. | Charlotte I studied for an exam in Business Studies at school and really enjoyed the subject, but I felt I could learn so much more at work. I looked at my options and heard through friends about a training programme. It was a lot of effort to travel each day to the company where I worked. However, I stayed with that company because they had such a great programme. Now I have completed my course I am going to take a year to focus on my new job and see where that leads. I am thinking about studying in the future, but I am really enjoying my role in international product development. That is something I love about training, it gives you options to progress and build on what you have learnt. |

Tips para la parte 7 del Reading FCE
En la parte 7, el ejercicio de emparejamiento múltiple busca que sea capaz de comprender los detalles, en este caso, encontrar información específica en el texto. Estos son algunos consejos que debes tener en cuenta para solucionar este ejercicio.
- Empieza por descartar las ideas de otras secciones que puedan parecer similares pero que no reflejen con precisión el conjunto de la pregunta. Algunas de las opciones pueden ser correctas para más de una pregunta.
- Analiza las preguntas y lee minuciosamente cada uno de los párrafos.
- Lee las preguntas y empieza por escoger las más fáciles. Las preguntas más fáciles tienden a ser aquellas que parafrasean algo que se mencionó en el texto.
- No te dejes engañar por el hecho de encontrar palabras similares en la respuesta.
- Verifica dos veces tus respuestas.
- Entrénate con diferentes actividades en línea. Existen múltiples plataformas que proponen ejercicios para que practiques. No dejes nada al azar y prepárate para el FCE.
Ten en mente que debes conocer la estructura del la comprensión lectora y uso de la lengua del FCE para de esta forma ser eficaz y saber cómo responder a todas las preguntas. Empieza a practicar con un examen de Cambridge B2.
