Why master the Grammar course in English?
Want to strengthen your English grammar basics and improve your command of the language? The Grammar course is essential if your goal is to gain a solid grasp of grammar rules and hone your business communication skills. By perfecting your verb conjugations, you'll be understood more easily and convey your ideas with precision. Learn how to structure your ideas and opinions coherently for more compelling discussions and presentations in English.
Most people these days have at least a basic level in English. That could mean surviving a simple transaction, like ordering a drink, or something a little more demanding, like making a reservation. However, if you want to move beyond the basics and use your English in the world of business, you really need to get a handle on the grammar.
That’s right: you can’t hide from English grammar forever. As with any language, the rules of grammar are what hold the whole language together. Even if you’ve picked up a fair amount of vocabulary, you won’t be able to use it effectively if you can’t deploy it within correct grammatical structures.
Plus, if you’re planning on using your English within the professional sphere, accuracy is everything. Presentations, introductions, and networking events rely on slick communication skills. Written reports, lengthy emails, and marketing strategies require near-faultless precision.
There’s no question that you need to learn English grammar, the only real question is: how to learn English grammar easily?
Learning grammar is one thing, but learning it easily is another. Onboarding a new skill without long hours spent pouring over a dusty textbook is possible, but it takes some planning. We’re ready to share our top tips on how to learn English online and everywhere else.
Tip #1 Set a goal
Whenever we set out to learn something, there’s usually an objective in mind. Define your goal, set a target, and establish your plan to learn English grammar around it.
Tip #2 A little bit every day
Studying in short, sharp bursts has been proven to be more effective that long, irregular stints. Carve out 10-20 minutes every day to devote to your mission to learn English.
Tip #3 Learn new words
Grammar is key but learning new vocabulary can be more rewarding in the short term. Write down new words you encounter and make an effort to onboard new terms regularly.
Tip #4 Surround yourself with English
Learning a language takes active participation, but that’s not to say it can’t be boosted with some passive immersion. Start reading an English book, remove the subtitles from your English series, and start turning into an English podcast.
Tip #5 Practice where you can
It may be easier than done, but practicing your English comprehension, expression, and grammar skills is the most effective way to make progress. If you don’t have English-speaking friends, no worries, that’s what our online classes are for!

Beginner level: What do you do every day at the office?
In this beginner-level situation, you’ll meet Lucy, Raphael, and Susan, three coworkers who discuss the upcoming six-month schedule. Each situation focuses on a new set of vocabulary and some key grammar points. When you complete this situation, you’ll be able to:
- Identify three different types of pronouns;
- Understand the difference between pronouns;
- Use pronouns in business conversations;
- Recognize business expressions.
Let’s take a look at an exercise.
In this example, you must type an answer to complete the sentence. If you analyze the sentence correctly, you’ll know that the blank requires a pronoun, such as “he”, “she”, or “it”. The pronoun in question must agree with Lucy, “she”.
Intermediate level: I was wondering if you’d be interested…
In this intermediate-level situation, you’ll follow John and Lisa as they discuss his plan to convince Mrs Borris to sign with his company. The aims of this situation are to:
- Talk about events that did not happen;
- Describe a background event;
- Make polite requests.
Let’s look at an example.
In this example, you must place the given words into the correct order to make a question. This intermediate exercise requires a good understanding of syntax and confidence with phrasal verbs. There’s only one correct response, so it’s one strike and you’re out!
In case you haven’t got it, the correct answer is: “Have you figured out what the company needs?”
Advanced level: We could have done so much together…
In this advanced-level situation, you’ll meet Bill Gates talking to a reporter about how he manages competition and how things could have worked out with Steve Jobs. By the end of the situation, you’ll be able to:
- Speculate about events in the past;
- Comment on past actions;
- Draw conclusions about a specific subject.
Here’s an example exercise.
In this example, you must fill in the blank to complete the sentence using an expression. This advanced exercise requires knowledge of idioms and expressions in English, as well as flexibility with grammar. Do you have any ideas?
If you’re not up to speed with English idioms, you might want to incorporate “pave the way” into your English lexicon!

By the end of the test, we’ll have an idea on which of our resources are best suited to your profile.
Learn English grammar with a GlobalExam course
Once we know your level, we can advise you better on how to learn English grammar easily. We’ve devised three essential grammar courses to take you from beginner to advanced. Let’s take a closer look at the beginner course to find out how you can learn English grammar online with us.
The beginner English grammar course is made up of 21 “situations”. Throughout the GlobalExam platform, you’ll be confronted with our method of situation learning, where we introduce you to new grammar and vocabulary concepts in the context of a real-life scenario that you could encounter in your future work environment. Each unit is made up of a series of situations that link together with recurring characters and an evolving storyline.
In the grammar course for beginners, we follow Raphael, the manager of a hospitality company, who is taking care of the launch of a new project with a large hotel chain. The beginner course is part of a three-stage course, including the following three units:
- Beginner level: Review the basics (21 situations);
- Intermediate level: Making yourself understood on a daily basis (13 situations);
- Advanced level: Becoming bilingual (10 situations).
The whole grammar course takes approximately 12 hours to complete and gets progressively more difficult, preparing you to face the end-of-course challenge. If you successfully complete the challenge, you’ll get a GlobalExam certification.
What is a GlobalExam certification?
Once you think you’ve mastered the skills needed to learn English grammar in one of our courses, you can take a certification test to prove it. The challenge takes around half an hour and has 30 questions, which change each time you take the test. Let’s take a look at an example question:
